Llyr Gruffydd, Plaid Cymru’s North Wales AM, met with staff and residents at the Leonard Cheshire Home at Dolywern, Glyn Ceiriog, at the National Assembly building in Cardiff.
The event saw the launch of a photography exhibition in the Senedd, displaying what “The Spirit of Wales” means for disabled people. The launch celebrated the exhibition and also the work of the ‘Can Do’ programme in Wales.
The photographs were taken by disabled people who use Leonard Cheshire Disability services, including participants of their Big Lottery funded ‘Can Do’ programme. The amateur photographers took photographs to express what Wales, and Welsh culture, means to them.
Mr Gruffydd said: “I was very glad to welcome the staff and residents to Cardiff Bay and to see how the exhibition celebrates a diversity of opinion and artistic interpretation, by young and old, and from north to south.”
