Steps to reduce fatalities and collisions along a notorious Denbighshire Road have been welcomed by politicians.
Llyr Gruffydd, Plaid Cymru Assembly Member for North Wales, and Councillor Huw Jones, Corwen, said that any steps to reduce collisions and fatalities on the A5105, between Rhydtalog and Corwen were to be welcomed.
Llyr Gruffydd AM said: “The A5104 is notorious and we have seen several accidents there over recent years. We have been campaigning for improvements for many years and I first raised concerns about this dangerous road with the Government back in 2015. The fact that work will finally commence this week is welcomed. The introduction of an average speed camera system will hopefully be a deterrent to drivers who speed, and will help ensure any irresponsible drivers slow down.”
Cllr. Huw Jones said: “We don’t want to see anybody else lose their lives on this road. If this average speed camera will help stop these accidents then it should be welcomed. I’m thankful to North Wales Police and Denbighshire County Council for their on-going cooperation to make our roads safer.”
